Military Families at Rhodes Elementary School

Welcome Military Families

Thank you for visiting the military resource page. If you are new to the area or to W.H. Rhodes Elementary, we want to welcome you.  Our goal is to provide you the best transition possible and to welcome your family into the Rhodes Elementary, Jr. Panther family. You will find several resources below that may be of use to you as a military-connected family.

Rhodes Elementary aims to serve our military families through our Military and Family Life Counseling program, which supports service members, their families and survivors with confidential non-medical counseling where they are stationed. Non-medical counseling can help individuals address issues such as improving relationships at home and work, stress management, adjustment difficulties, parenting, and grief or loss.

We have a  Military and Family Life Counselor who provides short term, non-medical counseling support to military children, service members, family members, and staff. She is available during school hours, most days during the week. The Military and Family Life Counselor can assist with issues such as school adjustment, deployment and separation, reunion adjustment, sibling and parent-child communication, behavioral concerns, and fear, grief and loss. MFLC may also provide psycho educational groups, deployment groups, classroom presentations, behavioral interventions, parent or staff consultations, resource/referral information, and special outreach events for Veterans Day or Month of The Military Child. To make an appointment, just call the school main line at (850) 983-5670 and ask for the Military Counselor.

Rhodes' Ambassadors

At Rhodes Elementary, we believe in making the transition to a new school as smoothly as possible for our new students. A group of Rhodes' students were chosen through an interview process to represent the school in helping new students become acclimated to our Elementary school.
